Have you ever viewed the Singapore city skyline from the sea? Ever taken a photo with the Merlion or Singapore Flyer in the waters? Come join the SMUX Kayaking team as we paddle down the river and bask in the sun!
This year, Bay Escapade 2009 promises endless loads of fun and games (and a nice healthy tan). School is not just about your textbooks, laptops and class participation. . Take a break and get a feel of the salty yet refreshing river water with new friends while cruising along Kallang to Esplanade.
Due to the overwhelming response each year, SMUX has decided to make Bay Escapade an annual introductory kayaking event which kick starts a series of exciting SMUX kayaking team events in the upcoming year where all freshies and seniors are welcomed to sign up.
Canoe Polo Clinic (3rd Oct 09 tentative)

Imagine 10 kayaks playing a game in 1 small swimming pool. Think it can’t be done? Think again.
Combining elements of soccer, basketball and kayaking, Canoe Polo is a relatively new sport that has only recently spread to our own shores and is quickly gaining an ardent local following.
This year, Canoe Polo Clinic 09 will give beginners a glimpse into an exhilarating sport that involves both kayaking and ball handling skills.
Participants will get a chance to try shooting, rolling, and of course, a game of Canoe Polo.

Bay Escapade 2008
40 participants will be taking a leisure journey around the Sinagpore River to see familiar sights and sounds from the sea.
Other fun games and activities will be conducted on the water.
South Island Expedition 2008
Want to explore a side of Singapore that’s rarely seen or visited? Join us on the Southern Island Expedition to see the sights at Pulau Hantu, St John’s Island and the Sister’s Islands. This kayaking marathon covers over 42km and will be held on the 20-21st December. Not for the uninitiated, this expedition requires a 2 Star Kayaking qualification, so lookout for the Star courses this semester if you wish to sign up for SIE.
