Not just fun, More than adventure, Closer than family

What is SMUX without SMUX camp? Being one of the three annual signature SMUX events along with Nitebike and Adrace, the camp integrates all six teams, culminating in an exciting three days for freshmen to experience what it means to be a an SMU Xtremist.

Held from the 14th to 16th July, participants can expect to learn basic diving skills, improve their skating proficiency, parkour through simple obstacles, trek in the forests, kayak in the sea, night bike on the roads and even laser tag! The camp aims to give everyone glimpse of how SMUX members get involved in extreme sports and love every moment of it! Over the three days, the camp also bonds freshmen together with SMUX’s motto of adventure, fun, family in mind, making it a great opportunity for freshmen to forge long lasting friendships.

A full refund would be given if withdrawal is made 7 days or more before the camp. No refund would be given if withdrawal is made less than 7 days before the camp.

6. Can I join if I’m unable to bike/skate etc?

Definitely! Our activities are all aimed at the uninitiated SMUXtremist so zero proficiency of any activity is required. Furthermore, we have experienced group leaders who will be able to take care of the less proficient participants.

7. Can I join even if I have not obtained a water-proficiency certificate?

Yes. Participants, who are able to swim but do not have any form of water proficiency certification, can still join SMUX Camp. However, in order to ensure safety of all participants, they are required to undergo a water proficiency orientation program, before they are allowed to participate in water activities like Kayaking and Diving during the camp.

The water proficiency orientation program is a short test held at the SMU pool. It lasts less than an hour and participants choose to go on the 4th, 5th, or 7th July. Participants will be tested on drown proofing, treading water and a 50m swim.

8. What is the difference between SMUX camp and Sports Camp?

SMUX Camp offers participants engaging outdoor adventure activities like skating, trekking, biking, diving, kayaking and laser tag. On the other hand, Sports Camp offers sports that are more competitive in nature.

9. Am I allowed to leave during the camp due to other commitments?

Yes, please do indicate on the sign-up form if you are leaving during the camp.
